Lets concentrate on the first definition: "a medium of exchange, a measure of value, or a means of payment"  When you think about money in these terms, does it give you any ideas?  It should!  I consider "a medium of exchange" and it implies to me there are other ways (mediums) to be able to get what I want.  My thoughts raced on this concept.  I pondered the question "how many times have I focused on getting money, instead of getting what I wanted?"  Again I pondered the question "there are other ways to get what I want?"  This is the question you should pose to yourself, and take a brief minute, take a deep breath and focus on something you wanted but did not get because of money, and ask yourself: was there another way to get it?  Can the money be found? Can it be received as a gift? Could you win it? Can the debt be forgiven? Could there be a small miracle?  Some of these questions take you off-topic, meaning, you are no longer thinking or discussing what you want, instead, you are focusing only on one medium of exchange: "money."

Is it The Money You Want, Or The Things Money Can Be Exchanged For?

Yes, many times I have told myself I could not get what I want because I did not have the money.  Sometimes I still do.  We all do it.  "You can't pay the electric bill with a good attitude!"  Actually, yes you can!  If paying the electric bill is what you want, and the only medium they will accept is "money", how could you put that good attitude to work and find a way to attract the money you need?  What can you exchange for money?  As an example of good attitude, I remember my brother and I were discussing a dream of his to open his own scuba diving school, and he said, "nah I don't want it yet", and I said, "You mean you can't afford it." "No, I don't want it", he said. "if I wanted it bad enough, I would have the money to get it - I refuse to tell myself the lie that 'I cannot afford it.' I do not want to teach my brain to rely on that statement, and to make it come true - so I choose to say 'I do not want it', because that is the truth that will serve my best interest - and when I do want it, I will buy it."   Now, I am not suggesting you tell the electric company you don't want to pay the bill.  Instead, I suggest to separate the two separate concepts as a place to begin relying on true statements, instead of relying on false statements, that become true as a result of a poor attitude.

We often make statements that become true, but rarely say statements that are true when we are talking about the pursuit of our wants and needs.  Much like my brother, who molded his attitude into something more positive, (which was good thought control) we change our wants and needs to fit our budgets.  We rarely change our budgets, or our beliefs about our budgets in order to obtain what we want.  We close ourselves off to hoping and expecting miracles, so when miracles appear, we dismiss them as folly, or as being impossible.  We even look at other mediums (replacements to money) as impossibilities.  We understand the concept of grants, and scholarships to pay for schooling tuition, but we fail to understand how our wishes can be 'granted' by miracles - and we use words like "miracles" to describe the mediums we don't understand - because we are not open to believe such things are commonplace and possible.

Money to pay for our wants and needs comes as a result of focusing on what you wanted and needed, not as a result of focusing on obtaining the money for it.  Ask yourself this question: Did you pursue a job because you needed money? Or did you pursue a job because it is what you wanted?  If you are honest with yourself, your answer will be "a little of both." - and that is why you got the job and the money attached to your wage agreement.  But, to use the power of "Intentional Abundance" would have meant, you would have clearly defined your wants and needs.  You would have been open to exploring more than just one way (a job) to get the money (medium) to pay (exchange) for it (wants and needs) or .  You would have considered other exchanges, other mediums and guidance on obtaining you wants and needs.   Some people consider theft, deceit and murder as acceptable means to obtain what they want, yet these same individuals don't believe in miracles, sad huh?

For every action, there is an opposite, but equal reaction - Isaac Newton, Law of Reciprocity

Receiving and Giving money (or other mediums) are the same thing: Opposite, but equals of exchange.  If you want 'more' money (or other medium of exchange) then you must give a higher quality of exchange, not necessarily a higher quantity.  Lets say you wanted a raise (more money) the opposite reaction of your boss means he wants either (or both) a higher quality of performance from you, or more time with higher performance. It could also mean he might want to pay you less (also an opposite equal). This is a natural law.  But we are speaking of "value" (more money, higher quality) so perhaps an abundant approach to receiving a raise is simply by adjusting your self image, your self worth.  Back before you were hired, your boss may have been willing to pay you more, but you had a low self value, so, he reciprocated and paid you less, the amount you agreed to work for, which was less than what he expected.  Now that he has a relationship with you, he may give you a substantial raise - without you, or him, placing a condition of increased quality and time.  It may require some salesmanship (high presentation value).  He may be ready with a low-presentation-value sales pitch of his own.  Your receiving more money, more specifically "what you want" is directly tied to you giving more of what others want, and on many different facets, such as quality, quantity, value, time, urgency, expectations, beliefs and perceptions.  Every action has an opposite but equal reaction - a law that you can mold to work for you, in many ways, not just a raise.  Many people who regularly pay a tithing to their church, will attest that they have received a higher value than they paid, and many times they can recognize that value in monetary returns.  If you want something, give something equal in exchange, and you will get it, and much much more.  The more energy you put into "receiving", will be met with its opposite equal of "giving" from you, or "resisting" in other words you are limited according to your ability to exchange value for value. However, the more energy you put into "Giving" high quality and quantity of donations from you, will be met with its opposite equal: you "receiving" and is only limited to the Universe's ability to exchange value for value.

You and your boss (or income source), you and your money are, or have been on a one-to-one relationship. If you open yourself to the universe (the people you do, and do not know) you are on a one-to-many relationship over flowing with value, abundance, and yes, even money.
